Preamble

PROSILAME LAW FIRM FZ LLE (“Prosilame”, “we”) takes the protection of the personal data of its website visitors and clients seriously. This policy describes the data we collect, how we use and share it, and the rights available to you, in accordance with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data and, for individuals located in the European Union, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Data we collect

We collect the data you provide directly: name, email address, phone number, subject and content of your message through the contact form. In the course of an engagement, we also collect the identity documents and financial, corporate or contractual records needed to carry it out.

We also collect certain technical data as you browse the site: IP address, browser type, domain name, pages visited, access timestamps and referring site, for security and audience-measurement purposes.

Purposes of processing

Your data is used to respond to your enquiries, contact you back, carry out an engagement entrusted to us, meet our legal and professional obligations — including anti-money-laundering (AML/KYC) requirements — and improve the security and operation of the site. It is never sold or rented to third parties.

Legal basis

Processing rests, depending on the case, on your consent (contact form), on the performance of a contract (once an engagement letter is signed), on compliance with a legal obligation (professional duties, AML/KYC, record-keeping) or on our legitimate interest (site security, fraud prevention).

Sharing of data

Your data may be shared, strictly to the extent necessary, with our technical providers (hosting, email), the professional correspondents associated with your matter (fellow lawyers, accountants, notaries), banks and administrative authorities in connection with a matter you entrust to us, or the competent authorities where required by law. We never share your data for third-party marketing purposes.

International transfers

As the firm practises in the United Arab Emirates for a client base that includes French and European clients, some data may be transferred outside the European Economic Area. Where this occurs, we ensure that appropriate safeguards apply to the transfer.

Retention

Data arising from a simple enquiry is kept for as long as needed to handle your request. Data linked to an engagement is kept for its duration and then for the statutory retention periods applicable to legal and accounting files, generally five years after the file is closed.

Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss or disclosure, including encryption of exchanges and access restricted to authorised personnel. As no method of electronic transmission or storage is entirely secure, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

You have a right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection to the processing of your data, and, where applicable, a right to data portability. To exercise it, write to contact@prosilame.com. If you reside in the European Union, you may also lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority.

Professional secrecy

Information exchanged in the course of a consultation or an engagement is further covered by the lawyer’s professional secrecy obligation, which affords protection distinct from, and stronger than, general data protection law.

Minors

The site is not directed at minors, and we do not knowingly collect data about them.

Changes

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or in applicable law. The version in force is the one published on this page.
